PORTLAND, OR, JULY 30, 2008 - Jive Software (www.jivesoftware.com), the pure-play collaboration software leader, today announced record customer growth, with major customer wins including Cisco, SAP, VMware, and NetApp. Jive increased its customer base by 25%, bringing the number of total customers to 2,500, including over 15% of the Fortune 500. In addition, the company unveils Clearstep, an online community for social and enterprise 2.0 professionals. Finally, Jive named Bryan LeBlanc as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. LeBlanc brings nearly 20 years of finance experience at public high-tech and software companies to Jive, and will be responsible for all finance and administrative functions of the business.
Clearstep is the first of its kind online community, powered by Jive's own Clearspace product, for social and enterprise 2.0 practitioners. Now these professionals have a place to interact, share best practices, and gain access to a much wider range of perspectives on common community and collaboration issues. Clearstep is intended for all social and enterprise 2.0-focused professionals, including Jive customers. "There is a seismic shift in the way people are working, with a focus on people instead of just moving files back and forth; on conversation and openness instead of departmental silos and email. Clearstep is the first time the real drivers and practitioners behind this movement have a place to share ideas" said Dave Hersh, CEO, Jive Software. "Signing on 500 new customers is a testament to the fact that Jive is leading this charge and our people-centric approach is what today's enterprise needs."
Jive's flagship products, Clearspace and Clearspace Community, are the first enterprise-class collaboration applications that combine the latest content creation tools with community-driven intelligence - in essence, bringing consumer technologies like social networking to large organizations. By presenting Web 2.0 and traditional communication tools in an intuitive and unified way, Clearspace is transforming the way companies work, resulting in better products, faster processes and a more connected workforce. Clearspace Community is an edition of Clearspace that is specifically designed for collaboration with external audiences, such as customers, prospects, partners and suppliers. "Jive Software has seen tremendous growth in the company's year over year sales as it continues to expand and emerge as a leader in the collaboration software industry," said Bryan LeBlanc, CFO Jive Software. "I am excited to join the Jive management team and apply my experience in software to such an innovative company," said LeBlanc.
Mr. LeBlanc comes to Jive Software from WebTrends Inc., a web analytics and Marketing Performance Management solutions company, where he was CFO and led the financial and operational teams. Prior to WebTrends, LeBlanc was a member of Mercury Interactive's executive team, where he helped drive substantial growth in both the size of the business and the company's market value. LeBlanc has also held management roles in finance and marketing for inSilicon, Documentum, Cadence Design Systems, and Fogdog Sports, where he successfully led the company's IPO team as the CFO.
Hersh added, "Bryan is an important addition to the Jive team as we continue our rapid expansion. His expertise and proven results in steering and scaling enterprise software companies is exactly what we need during this phase of our development."
